Consulting (The Big List)

I’m excited to unveil the second iteration of a very labor-intensive project that I’ve been working on. While I’m always happy to answer all your questions about the plants that I grow, I’ve also been keeping an eye on a few dozen other nurseries and seed companies across Washington and much of Oregon, to catalogue over seven hundred Washington-native plants that are commercially available. If you’re interested in this service, I can provide comprehensive lists to help you choose plants from the wider market based on:

- sun and moisture requirements

- growth form

- height

- evergreen/deciduous

- annual/perennial/biennial

- flower coloration and months

- ethnobotanical uses (including edibility, fiber, and herbal)

- naturally occurring in eastern vs western WA

- everywhere I've seen it listed in inventory, as seeds or plant

The cost

For use of such a list, I bill for two hours of consultation plus one hour for each additional zone; for example, a rock wall plus a front yard meadow would be two distinct zones and therefore billed as three hours of consultation. My consultation rate will be raised from $120/hr to $130/hr on March 20th, 2025 (the first day of spring)
